Service was so lovely. We had the darbari family style platter. It was a tonne of food for 5 people. Absolutely delicious. The food was perfectly seasoned. Everything was flavourful. Fresh ingredients. Just delightful.

I’ve ruined myself by going to Persepolis Persian Restaurant. You know when you’ve had a meal that is THAT good, that it ranks in your Top Meals of Life? I’ve had some fantaaaaastico meals, in amazing places such as Via Quirinale in downtown Rome, the most fantastic pizza down a dingy side street in Napoli Italy, amazing piri piri and curries and vindaloos in Northern India, and literally more food choices than hours in the food stalls in J’maa El’fnaa in Marrakesh. Let’s say I’ve seen some places and eaten some food 😄😍😄😍 in the countries I’ve had the fortune to visit. So woe is me! What is this?! A local St. John’s restaurant that EASILY slides into one of my TOP 5, well, TOP 3, and should I even give it my Top Dining experience ever? I mean everything is subjective - but this foodie experience was AAA-MAZING.Please, if you like food, rice, chicken, vegetarian, beef, lamb, really, you MUST do yourself the “you deserve this” and get some food from Persepolis Persian Restaurant.I wanted to hop on a plane to Tehran after I left the joint. The lively music, the beautifully draped fabric and symbols of Iranian and Persian life. Wow. It’s too late to get more today, but I’m going to have to feed the beast tomorrow, because I can still smell the smoked aubergine/eggplant, that perfectly cooked saffron rice, the pistachios and the salads of garlic and yogurt borani esfanaj!Oh and definitely try the saffron, basil seed, and lemon drink - incredibly refreshing!(My only non-glowing comment, it was cold in there, but the food was so incredible…we managed 😄 troopers that we are 🤪)

This gem in St. John's has effortlessly secured its place as my top restaurant. The cuisine is a delightful symphony of flavors, impeccably presented—comfort food elevated to an art form. The service is impeccable, with perfect timing and a genuinely kind server. The cozy atmosphere and authentic decor create a welcoming ambiance and a dose of a beautiful culture that I want to learn more about. And last - the remarkably fair prices make it all the more appealing. I am already making plans to share meals here with my favorite people; this place is an absolute treasure!I know that a lot of Newfoundlanders may not know much about Persian food, but don’t be afraid. Try it once and I promise you will be craving it again!I ordered the Lamb Shank with Saffron rice. The meat fell off the bone and was perfectly flavoured, I couldn’t get enough of the rice, and the salad and dressing was so delicious that I just didn’t want it to end. Absolutely incredible! I also tried the Saffron Cocktail, and like my entire meal, I seriously couldn’t get enough.
